dc.description.abstract Following unprecedented aggressive effect of contemporary media on students, the researchers proposed a study entitled “Contemporary Exposure of Social Media and Its Relationship with Students Academic Result”. It was not as such known to what magnitude students are vulnerable and their academic result is impacted whether negatively or positively.Thereby both qualitative and quantitative approach and formulating descriptive survey design was used. Questionnaire and interview are the major tools used to collect data. To do so from the total consciously speculated 13000 populations 374 of them have been involved via questionnaire; 12 (saturated) school principals have been interviewed; this indeed helped the researcher triangulate the datum from multiple techniques. As a result, it is discovered that students are highly exposed to social media utilization and in a return their academic result is seriously affected. Students who use social media extended hours, the less they score grades. Contrarily, students who spend fewer hours are best scorer of academic result. Besides it is proved that there is negative significant relationship between social media utilization and academic excellence. Moreover, the consciousness of students towards social media customization seemed to have been corrupted. Consequently, based on the finding it is suggested that shared responsibility is needed. Since students are lagging back comprehending the tricks of social media, courses such as media/information literacy should be introduced in the curriculum. Again, regular and surprises supervision is recommended. Parents have central role in paving the future of their students; thus they don‟t depart themselves in examining the day to day scheme of their pupils. In addition to that, triangular (teachers, parents, students and executive bodies need to be establish a common counsel that address the delinquency of students. en_US
